Newcomers (who want to stay in Edmonton)
One of the main objectives of the Coptic Heritage Society of Alberta (CHSA) is to support new landed immigrants by helping them and their families get settled in their new land of immigration.
There are some available apartments in the Canadian Coptic Community Center for accommodations that can be booked, as well as, other apartments in other communities. Availability is dependent on when you are planning to arrive in Edmonton. Details can be discussed further.
CHSA offers professionals who can help you settle in and guide you through the proper steps to get licensing or refer you to the right institution (e.g. Bredin Institute, Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers, etc.)
The Coptic Heritage Society of Alberta aims to help newcomers with career advancement by introducing them to boards / licensing bodies in Alberta and help them fulfill the requirements and pursue employment opportunities in their specific fields. The CHSA is conducting events in coordination with government organizations and other community service centers. Such events are intended to help newcomers learn about their new country, city, culture, activities, lifestyle, and employment opportunities and develop the necessary skills to join the work force effectively, and to be able to serve the community.
The services provided by CHSA include but are not limited to: Airport, Banking, Income Tax, Career Planning, Job Search, Housing, ESL, APHC, SIN, Drivers License, Family doctor and Schools.
